The Meteorological Department has stated that the Nilgiris district is expected to receive heavy rain accompanied by thunder and lightning today, while Chennai may see moderate rain with thunder and lightning over the next two days. The department also reported that, due to Cyclone 'Murasu', Cuddalore recorded the highest rainfall in the last 24 hours, with 8 cm of rain.
